Firsching, Marstiller, Rusbarsky and Wolf Engineering Inc. was formed on November 6, 1995 by Richard C. Firsching, David D. Rusbarsky and Daniel J. Wolf. On April 1, 1999, Charles E. (Ted) Marstiller became a partner of the firm, adding to the partnership's already extensive experience base. FMRW is located just 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh in the borough of Forest Hills. FMRW specializes in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) engineering, primarily, for institutional clients. FMRW has worked for several Pittsburgh area hospitals and for Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. for nearly it’s entire existence. However, FMRW has an extensive list of non-institutional clients, as well. This list includes everything from branch banks and corner restaurants to professional office buildings and light industrial facilities.
Charles E. (Ted) Marstiller, P.E., has over 30 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer including nine years as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Baker and Associates, a Division of Michael Baker Corporation. Ted is a Principal and one of the Supervisors of the HVAC and Electrical Departments at FMRW. Ted is most noted for his work at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. He is also responsible for quality control.
David D. Rusbarsky has over 30 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, including nine years as the HVAC Department head at RCF Engineers. He is a Principal and the other supervisor of the HVAC department. David is noted for his work in the hospital and laboratory field, and was the lead Design Engineer of the team that designed the first thermal storage system in the Pittsburgh area. This was designed for the Rangos Research Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. David was also one of the first engineers in the area to use large, engine-driven chillers in tandem with electric chillers to provide both heating and cooling. This design was utilized for the Duquesne University Science Center.
Daniel J. Wolf, CIPE/CPD, has over 30 years experience as a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer, including 4 years as Plumbing and Fire Protection Department head at RCF Engineers. He is a Principal and the Supervisor of the Plumbing and Fire Protection department at FMRW. Since the firm’s inception, Dan has managed most of the firm’s administrative functions.
Richard (Dick) C. Firsching, P.E. has, after 50 some years in the business, gone to a well-deserved retirement. Dick still comes to the office to swap war stories and get a free lunch.
FMRW is organized so that at least one of the Principals is involved directly with the design and management of each project. The Principals work with the project engineers and are always available to answer questions throughout the design and construction progress. This ensures that innovation and quality are a part of every design. With the extensive experience of our Principals and Design Staff, Firsching, Marstiller, Rusbarsky and Wolf Engineering Inc. takes great pride in providing our clientele with innovative designs using the latest technology and methodologies to meet the needs of the owner and the budget and schedule of the project.
